Medical Cannabis Businesses

Kentucky’s medical cannabis program officially launched on January 1, 2025, with a carefully selected group of licensed cultivators and processors who play a key role in bringing safe, high-quality medical marijuana products to patients across the Commonwealth. These licensees were chosen through a randomized lottery system to ensure a fair and transparent process.

 

Each cultivator is responsible for growing cannabis plants in licensed facilities, while processors manufacture those plants into various medical products such as oils, tinctures, and edibles. All licensed cultivators and processors are held to rigorous compliance standards and are regularly inspected by the Office of Medical Cannabis to ensure product safety, quality, and compliance.
