Kentucky Medical Marijuana Doctors

How to Find a Medical Marijuana Doctor in Kentucky

With Kentucky's medical marijuana program in development by lawmakers, people with a qualifying medical condition across the state are actively exploring and requesting to be shown how cannabis can improve their symptoms and overall quality of life. To this end, many Kentuckians are hungry for knowledge about what will happen next since the medical marijuana bill passed in the Bluegrass State. Medical marijuana will soon be legal in Kentucky!

There are thousands of qualifying patients interested in applying for their marijuana card even though the Kentucky Legislature has yet to launch the program following the law that legalized medical marijuana. But don't worry, the program will launch soon in January of 2025!

Kentucky Marijuana Card is prepared to open offices throughout the state once a medical marijuana program becomes established. We’ll be here to support the people of Kentucky who need medical marijuana, in their search to find trustworthy, compassionate and knowledgeable state licensed physicians who have taken cannabis-focused medical education coursework and are prepared to discuss and recommend medical marijuana. We’ll have our offices staffed with state-approved, licensed cannabis certified marijuana doctors that can perform your evaluation that will last as little as 10-15 minutes. And, if appropriate, write medical marijuana recommendations.

Which Medical Providers Can Certify Me for Medical Marijuana?

The medical provider must be a doctor of medicine licensed in the state of Kentucky, be in good standing to practice medicine in Kentucky, and have a bona fide physician-patient relationship with the patient they are certifying for treatment with medical cannabis.

When Does the Physician Certification Expire?

It is unclear what the limits of expiration will be once a doctor recommends medical marijuana in Kentucky. However, the standard amount of time patients in most states have to register with their state medical marijuana control program is 30 days after a doctor certified eligibility.

At Kentucky Marijuana Card, part of our service will include making sure that once you receive your recommendation for medical marijuana, your information is submitted to the proper Kentucky regulatory agency. We will be with you every step of the way to make sure all your requirements are fulfilled and processed in a timely manner, so you will have access to your physician recommended medical marijuana as soon as possible!
